Reunion Dinner
Chinese new year eve was spent watching a really cute movie "hotel for dogs" with my exchange friends, followed by dinner at some chinese restaurant a few minutes away from the university inn. Chinese food in USA really sucks, if not for the traditional reunion dinner, i wouldnt have wasted my money on lousy chinese food.

this hot and sour soup was so disgusting we asked for a change of soup.

the new bowl of soup was slightly better, but still not very tasty

fried rice was rather decent

cheese wanton and charsiew...not too bad

fried shrimp and popiah were pretty good

then the rest were generally bleah!
whale watching
I signed up for whale watching organized by UCSC recreation expecting to see lots of whales since this is the gray whales migration season. But it was a huge disappointment :( the cold wind was blowing straight at my face and my ears hurt, and after a while i got rather seasick. I only managed to catch brief glimpses of the whales and soon i decided i have enough and went inside to sleep so i wont puke. And i slept through the rest of the journey because sleeping is the best cure for seasickness...
