i simply adore Diva, the new accesory shop that opened at Marina square. It sells the nicest and cheapest accesories!

got this pair of earrings at $10 only! what a steal right?

Today i decided to try something different at MIX

Liquid Lunch(apple +celery + carrot + cucumber + tomato + basil + protein powder).

It was DISGUSTING. I drank one mouth and i felt like puking. It's even worse than carrot juice which i hate. But i have to finish it up anyway, since it's not very cheap and i didnt eat any lunch.

Im not going to be cheated by those health food/drinks anymore. Arghhh

Maybe i should go out more often, then i would eat less of the royce and hokkaido chocolates at home. Every few minutes i find myself raiding the fridge, popping uncountable amount of chocolates into my mouth.

Staying out = not seeing chocolates = no temptation = lose 3kg of fats = my ideal figure = happy me = no more whining= jianglei's and friends' ears saved from the agony of hearing me complain all day long about being fat

but then again,

staying out = spending money = being broke= complain about being poor = torture to people around me

sigh, why did i buy so many chocolates back?

got food complain, no food also complain. No wonder mummy says im so hard to please.

all the toilet bowls, yes including those public ones, have this butt-washing facility. the newest generation even has a "butt-dryer". It was quite itchy at first that i couldnt stop giggling, luckily that was in my hotel room, saving me from the embarrassment. I remembered how my brother sat on it for half an hour when we were in tokyo 5 years ago.It's really quite comfortable :D

and, the security in japan's airports will check our bottles to see if it contains any poisonous liquid using this machine(Click to enlarge). This was implemented after the sarin gas attack on the tokyo subway by Aum Shinrikyo on March 20, 2005.

The Raffles Market Place

I've found my new food paradise - The Raffles Market Place. Omg, after the renovation, it actually houses so many nice cafes and restaruants that i dont know where to start from.

First, i tried Aerin's. Sounds promising since it's run by the same team behind Whitebait & Kale

guess who i saw this time? Jeanette aw! At first i didnt recognise her cos she looks so different in person, prettier. Note, i only say prettier but didnt say that she is pretty. The person that caught my attention initially was the photographer though. At first i saw this person moving the plates to another table and using his big professional camera to take photos of the food and i was thinking "wah, this person more exaggerated than me". seems like they were here for a food review or something.

Walked around and saw this stall that sells cute pastries.

Though im still full, i couldnt resist some soup from The Soup Spoon. Smells great!

Beef Goulash. Nice nice, with lots of vegetables too! The bread was so soft and delicious that jianglei even went to buy another one(it costs 50cent though)

spicy wedges. cheat my money, not spicy at all! Ok lar, maybe it's not their fault that i have a super duper high tolerance for spicy food.

MIX. It sells a delicious and nutritious range of smoothees, juices and wrapps.After all the fattening and unhealthy food that i had consumed, i decided to try their Liver flush(pink grapefruit + beet + ginger + lemon + cayenne) to clear my system

These are the other eateries that i would like to visit some other time!

today was such a strange day.

First, when i was doing the setting up in aria, this china tourist came to enquire about cabaret, asking why there are posters of it everywhere. Then he asked me if im a Singaporean and seemed shocked that i could speak mandarin. Like hello, every chinese in singapore can speak mandarin. He asked if my parents or grandparents are from china, to which i replied that my grandpa is from hainan island. He said no wonder, where got Singaporean so pretty one. HUH?

Second, there's this other chinaman who asked to take a photo of me. HUH again. So i awkwardly stood there to let him take the picture. After that, he asked to take a photo WITH me. I politely declined but he said it's ok, it's such a waste not to take a photo with a beauty.So he asked his "ai ren"(wife) to help him take the photo.

WTF. China guys have such weird taste.

me? pretty? SIAO.

Or is it that there is a lack of pretty woman in China that they have to resort to calling girls like me pretty.

Third incident. Aria's air-condition broke down and so we are not really ready to serve customers. So, Steven sent me over to Al Dente to help out. Got a shock of my life when i saw like 50 persons at Al Dente and i was so lost since i've never served there before. I was then asked to serve this 2 person, one of them being an italian. He spoke to me in italian and seeing my confused look, laughed that he was just playing with me. He then taught me how to say 'thank you for your service", "you are most welcome","i understand" etc in italian . Not easy i tell you. But it was fun serving them, the italian was such a joker.

That concluded my last day of work. School unofficially starts next week, say goodbye to my carefree life.

im so so so so happy! i've just been pre-allocated the introductory module for psychology for just 1 point! that means i dont have to bid and fight with others for it!!! yay yay yay!!!!

aiyaz, i should have declared social work as my other major and get it for 1 point then dropped it afterwards. Wasted.

I've gained 2kg in japan.

It took me one year to lose that 5kg to reach my ideal weight. It's so depressing to gain it all back now. And i made jianglei irritated by refusing to eat anything and then whining about not being able to eat anything.Im also sick and tired of running.

I think i need uzap or extrim :(

Hokkaido Tour

Im finally back from my 7 days hokkaido tour! Took like 600 over pictures and it was such a pain selecting the pictures and uploading them, took me one whole day. enjoy the photos!

my aunt bought this 4000 yen which is equivalent to $56 melon. Melons here can cost up to $200 and those are the class A ones, the one my aunt bought was only class c.

The highlight of the tour was at Furano Tomita Farm, which is the biggest farm to plant Lavender flowers as it spreads across Furano and giving the town a fragrant beauty.

the lavender ice-cream really has a lavender taste to it but it's not so strong that makes you sick, i love it!

evidence of the auntie in my tour group trying to steal the lavender. If there is one thing that i dont like about this trip, it's all the kiasu and inconsiderate aunties in my tour.they are really those typical ugly singaporeans that i cant stand.

the thing i love about japan is that they have lots of sample for their food so that cheapo me can go try every single one of them. But of course i bought those than i liked.Moreover, they dont give you black face despite u trying a lot and not buying.

Final stop of the day was at snow museum. Im so in love with the place, super beautiful

Ishiya, the chocolate factory where they produce a white chocolate biscuit that is only sold in Hokkaido and not exported anywhere else. It is widely popular and i heard that the chef learnt how to make chocolate in France.

ooh, they have so many nice and unique flavours of donuts here such as cinnamon and peach that we cant really find in Singapore. I dont usually eat donuts but im so addicted to the nice and soft donuts here.

After dinner, we took a shuttle bus down to Sapporo city and walked to the ramen street

The tour guide told us about this shop that is famous for its unagi. From the aroma of the unagi that i smelt as i walked passed it, i know he's not kidding.

The unagi there is quite ex, so i shared one with my aunt. The $28 buck was very well worth spent, the unagi is tender and juicy and fresh and super yummy.

This is Mt. Showa, an active volcano. Do you know that there are 86 volcanos in Japan, out of which 65 are active? If you are wondering, Mt Fuji is considered as a sleeping volcano, measuring 3776m tall.

Next, we visited the bear ranch, home for about 180bears

After dinner stop was at Mt.Hakodate, where we enjoyed the panoramic night view that is ranked among top three in the world

Very expensive tuna sashimi indeed. It costs us $56 for this 8 pathetic pieces of tuna belly meat which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids - very good for your brain and eyes

It's not cheap too, costs $21 for this little urchin. At first i told mummy not to buy it cos it's so expensive, but she said it's ok since i would not have a chance to eat it unless i come all the way to Hokkaido. So she bought one for me and it was very sweet and worth it.

After lunch was a long bus ride to the Shiraoi Ainu Village(the minority race in Hokkaido).The museum was designed to give a general picture of the Ainu's life,displaying precious heirlooms and household utensils.

the women of the village had to tatoo their mouths and hands from the age of 12 before they could get married at 20. Look at the black thing round the mouth. yar, that's their ugly tatoo.

Next, we proceeded to visit the steaming Noboribetsu mountain

the sulphurous boiling hot spring. I enjoyed the natural hot spring bath in the hotel, so relaxing!

our wide spread of dinner. the sashimi was super duper fresh i tell you! And lucky me get to enjoy double the serving of sashimi since mummy doesnt like raw food and it would be such a waste to put them inside the steamboat to cook.

after dinner, we walked back to mount Noboribetsu to watch their fireworks performance which wasnt very exciting in fact.

the service from this little shop is so good, they actually served us green tea the moment we stepped in, regardless of whether we bought anything.I must say i'm really impressed with the excellent service in Japan. The waitresses and salesgirls etc are always smiling politely, offering the best services they can. Something singapore should learn from.

Look at the huge mountain of snacks that we bought. We spent most of our money on food in Hokkaido cos the food there simply was tooo enticing for us to ignore.

Our last breakfast in Hokkaido before we say sayounara.

Went to a factory outlet at Chitose before going to the Chitose airport. It was huge and very high-class. However, it was such a pity that we only have a pathetic one and a half hour to shop and i only bought a adidas bag. Saw this skirt that looks soo sweet, just that it's not quite my style or i would have bought it.
