Hanabi

Mummy was on leave today and sis just finished her A levels yesterday, and despite having my Stats paper on sat, i couldnt resist good food and so we ended up at Hanabi for buffet! I asked Jiang along too, even though he has a paper on Fri, haha. But who could say no to food, especially japanese food!the first thing we ordered was sashimi, my favorite japanese food!teppanyaki salmon was okgrilled salmon was better but sashimi salmon was the best! Maybe it's just me, i prefer raw salmon :Dthe "spider" soft shell crab sushi was damn good!
me and jiang couldnt get enough of the sashimi, this must be the 4th or 5th plate we ordered!and mummy ate bowls and bowls of edamame
the unagi sushi was uber delicious!
grilled mackerel
couldnt resist more unagi!
kimchi beef. nice :)
beef with onion? pretty darn good too.
teppanyaki chicken
the chawanmushi was superb! Smooth and hot, yummy :p
unagi fried rice! Very fragrant, absolutely delicious!
teppanyaki mixed vegetables, i like!
garlic fried rice
cheese fishcake. not bad.
bite-size chicken. KFC's popcorn chicken is waaaay better.
grilled chicken wing. All i can say is that it must be a very skinny chicken, and it's definitely not the tender kampung chicken. Sis concluded that Japanese are not very good at cooking chicken, except for teriyaki chicken. But there again, it's the teriyaki sauce that makes it nice.

Overall, i was quite satisfied with the food, except that i was disapointed that they dont have desserts as part of the buffet, they should!!! And as usual, despite eating so full until i felt like i could puke, i got hungry again when i got home. As i blog about the food, i started regretting not eating more. Typical Ching Cheng after a buffet, haha.

Mezza9 high tea

the long awaited Mezza9 high tea! The spread was quite limited actually, but the quality and ambience made up for it. So depending on whether you are looking for a quality or quantity buffet, it may be a good or bad choice. Nonetheless, we stayed for 5 good hours and helped ourselves to many many servings of the same old good food and tried the different types of tea they had. I was slightly disappointed though. I read from reviews that it serves delightful macaroons, but they didnt serve it today :( But overall, the buffet was still very nice!

cauliflower soup!carbos that were worth the caloriesi love the yakitori :) the prawns were fresh. Even someone like me who is very very fussy about prawns and who only eat the freshest (like sashimi prawn) think it's good.
And Shn had like 20 prawns? No, actually i think she had more than that haha
hot chocolate
and the cheesecake is the best!
the bread pudding was yummy yummy, and i love the peppermint tea!chocolate cake was fantastic, brownie and eclair were good toooooh, delicious mango!the ice-cream and sorbet were superb! They had raspberry, lime, strawberry, yogurt, chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut, and rum & raisin...ooh lala~
