Quinceañera

My roommate, Julissa invited me to her sister's Quinceañera. It is to celebrate the girl's 15th birthday, her coming of age from a girl to a woman, and it is a really grand celebration for the Latin Americans. It's almost like a wedding, seriously! im not exagerrating. Once you look at the pictures below you will understand what i mean. The best way to describe it is..erm...Malay wedding. Yup that's the best description i can think of :) They also played a video of her pictures...like those wedding videos that you see at wedding dinner.

the invitation. anyone can read spanish here? zhen, if u r reading this, can you tell me what it says? haha
Mexican food for dinner...i love nachos!!!
girls and boys who are younger than the birthday girl will start a dance
then...welcome birthday girl! It's pretty obvious who's the birthday girl here :) look at her gown, im not kidding when i said it's like a wedding right!
After the dance, it was a toast for the birthday cake followed by cake cutting. Then they started playing spanish/mexican music and the dance floor is open! I dont really know how to dance to mexican music though...but i went up to the dance floor anyway :)
Rachael (and julissa behind)
it was an introduction to another culture and i had fun :D
