happy 39th!
Went Island Creamery for some ice cream! I havent eaten decent ice cream in a long long time! They used to have "different" favours like tiger beer, but they didnt have it when we were there :( the closest to "different" we saw was pulut hitam, kopi- o and teh tarikJiang had teh tarik and horlicks ice-cream. He loves horlicks but i love teh tarik! Omg, it really tasted like teh tarik and was so nice! I liked it so much i ended up eating most of itI chose nutella and berry ice cream. The berry one tasted like Haagen Daz, but i think i like Haagen Daz more. Nutella was only so-so. Baked Alaska. The cream tasted like the grilled ice cream we had at Kuriya, and there's strawberry ice cream inside, very very nice!Ice cream here is really cheap and nice and the different flavours are a refreshing change from what i usually eat. But i think Japan still serves the nicest flavours ever. I miss the lavendar ice cream in Hokkaido! I remembered how i used to eat it all the time whenever i see people selling it there. When i returned, i searched and searched but couldnt find it in Singapore. Anyone knows where they sell it must tell me!!! OH and the squid ink ice cream from Japan, tasted normal, but i guess people who like squid ink pasta would want to try it, dont see it in singapore though. Oh and one more thing, i didnt know Island Creamery have a "take away" branch at the basement of centre point, that means we could get it in town! Yay!!!hmmm...yummy :DI thought i was pretty full after having 3 scoops of ice cream(the 2 scoop i chose and the one scoop i stole from Jiang), but we walked pass Mad Jack and it looked pretty tempting!I settled for chicken in black pepper sauce with mushroom rice. The mushroom rice tasted special, quite nice. Black pepper sauce was good, spicy enough. But other than that, it wasnt anything spectacular, but fair enough. For the price we paid, we cant really expect anything fantastic. Im a strong believer of "You pay for what you get".The tallest burger, according to the menu.haha it was so tall that Jiang had trouble eating it, look what become of the burger - a total mashup
