dance camp 06

dance camp was really a blast! im having withdrawal symptoms already :( It's like the best camp i've ever been to cos there's so much fun doing different kind of dances. I love the masterclasses - all the popping, salsa, lindyhop, reggae, jazz...super fun and enjoyable albeit hard to catch.Gin's reggae was so impressive. She's a small girl with big actions and the way she moves her hips...manz, i wish i can dance like her.

Oh, and i love the mass dance too! Idil came up with this concept of dancing in a club so we did partner dance for give it up to me as in those that we see in mtvs. very black kind of thing. That was my favorite dance of the whole camp :D

Not to forget our minigroup dance performance. My virgin experience in choreographing!I think my style is more in girls hip hop, like britney spears that kind. Now my inspiration is ciara, her moves are like whoa. Choreographing was tough, i dont know how the seniors can come up with something so fast. And it's quite an accomplishment, to come up with a 2 minute long dance in just three nights. I bet i've lost some weight during those midnight dancing. Then it was the competition and i was so scared i would forget my steps. But once on stage, the nervousness was gone. All that was in my mind was the music and the dance and everything else was forgotten. And before i knew it, it was all over. I cant even remember what happened on stage. All the time and effort we had spent,it just flashed over in a second. I think im kinda getting addicted to performing. The experience on the stage is really exhilarating, it's just dancing and you. I feel a fresh energy the moment im on the stage. I feel a new me.

Got to know the seniors better, and they are all so nice and patient. Especially ziyen and jacky. Ziyen was so nice to help me polish up my steps, even though i was such a slow learner who cant even walk sexily. And our uncle jacky with all his encouragement and help. I know im quite sucky at hip hop,and i dont have a dance background, i really need all the help i can get together with my hard work. I think i could do better, need to put in more effort. I really love dancing and im gonna work at it no matter how bad i am at it. And i love my supermario crew! Haha especially ben, no i mean his car. Hahaha it was so convenient to have a friend who can drive us around, espeically when it rains.Haha but he's nice and funny also lar.And also my fellow bimbos lina and yiwen!

we had some initiation thing on the first night whereby they blindfolded us and made us do stupid stuff to each other. And yes, they made us paint on each other's face. And this was the result.
