valentine's celebration @ The Cliff

We decided to celebrate Valentine's day today since he would be in tekong on 14th Feb. I was so excited wondering where he would bring me to this year since he always manages to find romantic places to dine at. The Sentosa Resort & Spa, beautiful isnt it? the peacock we saw in the hotel the ladies room at beaufort hotel is so pretty and elegant i couldnt resist taking a picture of it.

at palawan beach

now it's time to exchange gifts! we must be telepathic or something coz we bought each other something from the same shop!
i bought him a Guess shirt and it's unbelievable what he bought for me... a watch-charm bracelet from the Guess valentine's collection! i was so pleasantly surprised when he presented it to me coz i would never have expected him to buy it for me. we saw it while shopping a few days back and i fell in love with it. But i thought i would never have it coz it cost like 200 plus. so imagine my extreme delight when i received this from him :D but i felt a bit guilty that he spent soo much on the present and dinner.
while waiting for the cab
jianglei's parents picked us up at harbourfront and sent me home. they also gave me quite a big ang pow. I felt quite bad that i havent told my parents about jianglei yet, coz i could never find a proper chance to. my dad seems to be quite against me having a relationship while still studying, he sounded angry everytime my mum said that she wants to introduce some ex-rj guy stuying medicine to me. I've decided that i would introduce jianglei to them if i get 4A's for my A levels. I will show them that their capable daughter is able to handle studies and a relationship equally well.

this must be the best valentine's day i'd ever have, and jianglei is probably the most perfect guy for me on earth.

about taxi drivers in singapore. Had been reading comments about the service of taxi drivers in singapore on the newspapers and i finally experienced for myself how poor the service actually is. Me and jianglei called for a cab after our dinner, and the driver actually didnt know where to pick us up at. I got a little pissed off and irritated when he told me he had no idea where the beach station was and expected me to give him directions.hello? you are the taxi driver, you should know where it is, not me. I admitted that my tone was quite bad at that time, but that was because jianglei's parents were waiting to pick us up at harbourfront and we were already late. it's the first time im meeting his parents together and i would hate to give a bad impression. moreover, it was rather late and i didnt want to trouble them like this. my house is like at the opposite end of singapore from where they live and it's really inconvenient for them to have to send me back. So of course i was angry for the delay that the taxi driver had caused. To give him some credit, at least his attitude was good and he asked one of the rangers at sentosa to direct him to the place. i felt a tinge of guilt when he said he nearly went over the hill while coming to pick us up.
I know it's tough to be taxi drivers, but i believe it's their responsibilities to at least know the places of interest well. they are one of the first few people that tourists come into contact with when they arrive in singapore, and it would leave bad impressions if the taxi drivers are clueless about popular tourists spots. Singapore is probably the easiest place to be a taxi driver. The country is pathetically small and there are sign posts everywhere. There is no excuse to not know how to go to places, not to say hot spots like sentosa. It's not an easy job i agree, but it's what expected from them. The taxi companies ought to provide better training for the taxi drivers. seriously, the service sector in singapore sucks. It's really high time to do something more about it if the government is determined to remake singapore into a tourist hub. all the integrated resorts will be useless if people are simply turned off by the lack of good service here
